Welcome from the Mayor and Council
 We
think of the Town of Kensington as a very special place and we are
sure you will soon feel the same way. So that you can be better
acquainted with the community, here is information that we hope
is helpful.
The Town is governed by a Mayor and four Council Members who are elected for
two-year terms. Please join us for monthly Town Meetings so you can observe
firsthand how our local government works. The meetings are scheduled for the
last Monday of each month at 7:00 pm unless otherwise noted. The Mayor and Council
also hold worksessions on the first Monday of each month at 7:00 pm These meetings
are also open to the public.
Look for meeting agenda subjects, upcoming Town events, updates
on Town projects and more in the monthly Town of Kensington Journal.
The Town Office is open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, where staff is always
available to assist you. Please be aware that certain streets in
Town require residential parking permits, and if you plan any construction
projects that require a Montgomery County Building Permit (including
fences) you will be required to obtain a Town Building Permit. Any

The Town has many community events such as our Labor Day Parade,
Town Picnic, 8K Race, and more.
